Giving tuition has been quite a remarkable experience for me, as it brngs me great joy and contentment to be able to see my students understand difficult concepts previously alien to them. This is thanks to not only my own efforts, but also their enthusiasm in their studies as well.
However, there are bound to be lazy and ungrateful creatures who simply do not appreciate what their tutors had done for them. Im glad I am finally rid of one such ex pupil, who had previously disposed of 8 tutors before me. what a joke. Mentally unsound are these creatures perhaps? We will never know.

Finally i can have two weeks of proper rest after my special term test! Decided to watch a horror movie for some excitement. 'ALONE' was not disappointing, as the scary parts were quite unexpected and there were lots of screaming all over. The ony thing which pissed me was the stupid guy sitting behind me who was constantly nudging my seat with his fat, thick long legs. Some people just don't know how to watch their manners in public!

Urghh! I missed seeing the Priestess of Cuteness Rainie Yang in person today! Blame it on my lazy legs which refused to move when i want them to! Achievements today include: I finally know how to breaststroke properly, improved on my Lebensraum No 3 and K311 Sonata! And..won a few chess online matches. Woohoo!

FINALLY..gruelling months are over
Fighting with an indominable spirit, one can only marvel how determined is this little person here, creating chances for himself to get As for all his exams, as well as getting a bit stuck up there on the nostrils.(and trying to clear it)
Finally, the torment is over...3 months of recuperation and work....in need for proteins and $$!
Workoholic or exercisology is better?

The evening was a memorable occasion as i had the honour to watch a celebrated Russian Pianist (what i thought since he had the surname 'Vladimir') perform the extremely mentally and physically exhausting Piano Concerto No 3 by Rachmaninov. The first two items by the orchestra were merely a formality as the audience braced themselves for this highlight piece at the last.
39 minutes of fast and furious fingers on the piano, complimented by the surprisingly co-operative violins and flutes of the orchestra! How that pianist managed it i don't know, but he certainly looked relaxed as he even had the time to turn to the audience and smile as he played at a rate of 10 to 15 notes per second! At the climax of the piece in the 3rd movement he stood up after he jammed the final chord of the portion and immediately received attention from everybody in the concert hall. My friend told me the melody sounded like some Walt Disney cartoon music. It certainly didnt appear in any cartoon before, but it was part and parcel of the film, "Shine" in 1996.
Went home rather contented that day. heh!

31 07 06 LIVE SOCCER!
Went to school as usual today in the morning but i wasnt really interested in the lessons..more of like going there for the sake of attending and copy down graphs and help notes. My mind strayed towards the National stadium, where Singapore will be facing Thailand in a showdown in the 1st leg of the AFC championship final.
Reached the stadium 2 hours before the match started and was really fascinated by the crowd that gathered just outside the East entrance. So many soccer enthusiasts! Can't go into the stadium as i have to pass tickets to two of my friends who will be coming later. Saw an army friend and was crapping around when suddenly a huge camera appeared to the right of us. Im on TV! haha...ignored it as i continued crapping.
Waited till 7.50 before my friends arrived..urghh! By then everybody was rushing into the stadium so movement was a crawl. When we finally got a seat, the national anthem just ended. Lucky us! Then kick off!
Didnt know how violent and biased we singaporeans can be until i heard shouts of 'referee' kelong at every single foul against the Thais wasn't recognised by him, and lotsa cheers and taunts for every ball that the Thai players gave away. haha, i decided to join in the fun too..but just the cheers and taunts.
Then Singapore scored after 15 minutes after some deflected shots and quick thinking but one of the strikers. Then everybody started to go berserk.
Most of the Second half wasn't a very cheerful occasion as Thailand levelled the game with a through ball that left the goalkeeper hapless. Then came the 82nd minute penalty decision in which the Thai players walked out ot the pitch with utter contempt of the referree's decision! It is the 1st time in my life that i saw such rudeness in the pitch! Utter lack of sportsmanship! Wasted 14 minutes and 19 seconds before they finally came back on to allow us to score at the top right hand corner of the goalmouth! OLEOLEOLEOLE!
So its 2-1 to Singapore after the 1st leg. Now its up to the players and the 96 fans who wil lbe travelling to Bangkok for the finale match on sunday! Go singapore!

The weather nowadays are simply too irresistable for me to not think of suntanning! So since its my free day today, i decided to stroll my way to the nearest swimming pool after a nice breakfast with dad. Reached there at 10 and already there were two guys enjoying the sunlight! Thereafter i quickly rushed to find a nice seat, laid down and did my skin justice for 2 hours. Now i look a bit like a Malay. Think i can pass as one if i can speak Melayu.

Went shopping with Joyce for her birthday present...supposed to have only one but then somehow she bought two pairs of hairclips from Suntec, a nice but insanely expensive pouch for putting make-up stuffs, and some earrings with the other girls. Was an extremely tiring day but was rather enriching as i get to experience the extreme noisiness and rowdiness that can occur when a group of girls go shopping together. mei you shu nu de feng fan!

Pathetic, simply pathetic! Have to go to the engineering side's canteen just to grab a quick bite during lunch hours! To do that an Arts student must first take the lift down from the 4th storey where the library is located, crawl across a huge bazaar filled with full of stores selling books and CCA demonstrations, cross a relatively dangerous road (cos its not on a flat surface), and walk along a boring path for 100 metres, then climb up some steps again to reach the destination. And the worse thing is, there are limited choices of food to consider. In fact, only one stall can pass the test of my taste buds. Bought food from that stall, and unluckily chose a seat that doesn't fit my posterior completely! Therefore my lunch was fraught with dangers, full of fear that i may fall off the seat.
Economy of China textbook out of stock! have to go back and buy it on friday!

So happy, finally received my check for the two days work during December, delayed for two weeks because of a lazy fellow worker who sent in his punchcard late! But have to wait till monday to bank in. sianz.
Sorrow overwhelmed me as i lost a very good friend over the phone in the evening because of the promise she made to her beloved. It is really a very unprecedented event which shocked me initially at first, but finally i realised that such an end is inevitable. I wish you all the best in your endeavours my friend.

My free day today! Met Shuxian for dinner at Douby Ghout and chatted about our past and goals for the new year. Had a nice, big hot dog in the meal! Other than that, nothing interesting for the day. hah

Went swimming at 11am. Wow, the reconstructed swimming pool looks really like a resort! With a second level suntanning area, a mini children's wet playground, and even gyms and eateries all around! As i marvelled at the sight all around me, i realised i had to make full use of the $1.30 that i spent on the entry fee. So i went to change to my swim wear, and realised i was so fair! arghh.
Didnt have any room to swim because there were swimming enthusiasts everywhere in my line of sight, waiting for the slightest opportunity to swim across my path and therefore block my passageway to the other end of the pool. Ended up staying at one end of the pool and got sunburned by the unusually brilliant rays of heat waves directed down on me. It really seemed like a Sun-day!
My friend went to my house to try to compete with me in a few games of winning eleven but he forgot to bring along my controller! So had to join him for a trip to Sim Lim Square to buy some cheap, compatible, unoriginal print catridges for his Canon printer. I must say they are really dirt cheap! $37 for 8 catridges of black ink? simply unfathomable! Went straight home after dwelling around the area for only 2 hours as i was so very tired from the suntan and lack of sleep the previous night.

In the beginning, 8 people originally wanted to play badminton. So i booked a court from 2-5pm today. When i reached there at 2pm, only one other guy turned up. So Both of us decided to utilize the court and play by ourselves for around 40 minutes before the 3rd person arrived at 2.40pm. Finally, 3 more turned up ard 3.10pm. Two others didnt come because of last minute commitments! urghh!
After 3 hours of intensive practise, the group of us piano players decided to go Suki Sushi for dinner. 99cents per plate of sushi! Sounds cheap, since it is 1 cents lesser than 1 dollar! I was one of those who was fooled and therefore i took 5 plates from the conveyor belt. Doesnt taste very nice. Their more expensive stuffs were better, like the green tea ice cream and their ramen...simply heavenly!
Finally, we went to the arcade to play our favourite game..'spot the difference!'. Didnt get to the high score board though...sianz. Finally..went home and chatted with my friends online till 4am before falling asleep till the next day 9pm to prepare for my first swimming trip in 4 years!

Imaginary and reality
Oh heavens! Never before i have seen and met a girl so wonderful and stunning as her; with such beautiful eyes that sparkle and gleam before me like stars, those lips that are thick enough to frown and smile with so much emotions in them, those unbelievably straight, long, strands of hair which combines with her height that makes her look so very elegant like a princess. Her voice sounds like 'Fantaisie-Impromptu' everytime she speaks and makes me want to hear more and more! The way she walks is also a pleasant sight to behold, with so much grace and agility in her footsteps. More importantly, she has the heart of gold and is definitely friendlier and less superficial than most women i have ever known.
Maybe that is why i have been grappling with my emotions for so long. She seems to be always on my mind no matter what i do, be it when im having dinner, playing piano, working, or even stoning! Have been asking myself what's the point? Guess she's the one and only ideal dream girl that i have been searching for so long. But i guess dream girl will always remain in the dreams i suppose...hiding forever within the deepest reaches of my mind, making me smile in my own imaginary world while im sleeping.
Just want her to be feel blessed and happy with whoever she's with and not be together with a person who does not put his heart entirely on her and lies to her. I'll be really contented if my role is just somebody whom she looks for occasionally to cheer herself up and minimize the frowns that she makes.

Original plan was to swim in the late morning today, but i decided to join Lilin for her lunch break since it is her last day at work. Searched high and low for that elusive Robinson towers! When i finally saw it, i was shocked that it is so Black!! Walked all over the place to find something to eat! The subway renovation must have pissed her off so we went to a cafe to eat some nice mudpies and fish and chips. Complaints galore came from her, which eventually felt our stomachs with so much qi that we couldn't finish the food! Urghh..brought the wrong tea! oops..sorry!
What to do now in the evening? need to practise my piano! haiz..fingers really getting weaker and weaker no matter how much practise i put in....how to pass my diploma exams?

Revisited the airport since September for a meal with NUS friend cum ex-colleague Yuyun. Reached Terminal 2, 1 hour before the meeting time! So bored nothing much to see and do there. So i decided to take sky train to T1 and walked ard before settling down at Changi Kopitiam and Enjoyed a wonderful appetizer in the form of a French toast while waiting for her to come out of the passenger area. Then had the actual meal in the form of Hor Fun at the Terminal 2 staff canteen. Thanks for the chocolates and accessories!

Combed through the whole of marina square and Suntec city mall. Lots of sales all around which, unfortunately, ends today. Nevertheless, it is my duty to walk around and do a little window shopping with my friend who was looking forward to purchase many clothes to start the year with. Dinner at suntec kopitiam was a disaster, because i picked the wrong meal to eat! The lian ou tang there was a disappointment, having little meat, little soup, and little lian ous!
Luckily the movie i watched later helped erase this unsatisfying feeling. Being in a museum with lots of live wax figures is simply so fun, especially when you can earn US$11.50 per hour being a night watch man there.
Finally went Carrefour and spotted super cheap wine glasses costing 11.90 for like a dozen of them! Friend decided to buy them to replace the ones at home, and i helped to be the carrier man for 3 MRT stops. haha

Looking back at year 2006, i realised that the 365 days that had passed by so quickly had been full of ups and downs, filled with so many unhappy and memorable events. From my change of course to economics at the beginning of the year, my second live concert performance on stage in March, my first special term studies in university in may, first working experience at the airport in july, to the meeting of a very wonderful friend in October, my first A+ grade, and my first attempt at piano transcription! haha!
What did i do on New Year's eve? Spent the the whole morning reading a sad book about the life of a sole survivor from one of the WWII-era extermination camps, Auschwitz. At the same time, had lent a listening ear to an unhappy friend of mine. Hopefully the gloom will disappear soon! The afternoon had been relatively uneventful, sleeping and eating, and watching tv. Spent the night at home watching the countdown on channel 5. Not exactly a very bad thing to do, but i can't see the fireworks! brrrahh! For the New Year, i wish my family and my health to improve, for more money, more sleep, more love, and alas, for all those whom i know to be really happy with their lives! Happy New Year everyone!
